Gallagher Square (Petco Park) which is somewhere between 6-7K. All standing room too. Last time they played San Diego was direct support for Deftones at the same venue. But it’s changed since then. Could see a big pit going
Richmond’s show is allegedly at the broadberry OR brown’s island and i have asked myself if i want to die this year.
after an absurd amount of listens since Friday I like Never Enough more than Glow On. GO has higher highs, but NE feels like a more fully realized / cohesive offering and gives me permission to believe they will keep iterating in incredible ways. GO was groundbreaking and deserves its flowers big time, I am just personally loving this experience as a listener.
Orlando Amphitheatre teased. Should be right before or after iii points fest in Miami in mid October.
It's so strange to me that Suffolk Downs is now a concert venue. Warped Tour used to be there, and I saw blink/NFG back in 2001? But the last year or two, it's really picked up as an actual venue. My dad worked there when it was a dog track, and we lived just a few minutes away. Big shows in Revere is just such a strange thing, haha
Never thought I’d be on my own, on my own, but I survived… Then you saw me standing alone and it’s all because of light designnnn…
First half felt very much like Glow On but with more spacey synths and less percussion. It's's not better for it, the synths bops add to the vibe but the percussion bips really got the grooves poppin on Glow On. Never Enough is a weak opener and probably not helped by how much I hate running. I like the trumpet parts on the song with them. Look Out for Me was awesome and generally enjoyed the second half more when it moved into newer territory and didn't have me comparing it to Glow On, that was also when I finish my run.
Projected top 20 in the charts of a country they're not even from is massive and significantly boosts the chances of a proper overseas run, I'm all for that.
Yup, this album is definitely stronger as a complete package than Glow On is. I still need to see the feature film too. Many parts remind me of Glow On, which is completely fine as this album still shows the growth after Glow On. Whether this is what they were shooting for with Glow On or not....It's nice to hear and see they actually did it. Also, I CARE is their best take on The Cure. Great song and should be on the radio. SOLE steals the show for me right now though.
I'm in love with this album. Glow On might take the crown ultimately, it feels tighter, but the looseness and risk taking here (even if it doesn't always pay off, like on "Ceiling", or is too reminiscent of Glow On at times) are just completely captivating me right now.
