First listen: hey this sounds familiar, weird. Second liste on: Glow On feels like a first draft and Never Enough feels like they were able to polish and finalize what they aimed for on that first draft, particularly when there are reused melodies or riffs or structures. Love it.
Made that trip last year, it was a blast. Have fun! (Go Phils!) As for this album, listing to it at night instead of the middle of the day has made a world of difference for me. I subscribe to the idea that all albums have their ideal time of day/year to listen to, and sometimes you just have to find the right combo for it to hit properly…I think I am on my way.
Since we’re talking about Pittsburgh I got REAL drunk today at a beer fest and listened to this when I got home and it was the perfect day.
Can confirm this record kicks ass on a long trail run. Played it front to back 3 times and it was magic. Particularly Look Out For Me brings the vibes. It was interesting finally doing a front to back. The visual album was a great way to hear it first. Just hearing the audio it felt a lot more like Glow On pt2 the first play through and I get the sentiment. Look Out, Never Enough, Sun Shower, Birds, I Care, and Time Is Happening are all top tier steps forward for me. I like Magic Man but i’m not sure how I feel about it as the closer yet. When I first heard Blue By You I always wondered what a whole record of that would be like. This album definitely scratches that itch for me and it’s always been in them sonically. Cant wait for the visuals to drop. It’s a real treat.
Saw them tonight at Primavera Sound. They rocked. Sounded great. Idk what else to say lol. Great band. this forum was my first stop post show.
When in Sole the synths and gang vocals kick in, Coldplay's Princess of China comes to mind. I don't know how, but the vibey and moody atmosphere of the record reminds me of Vacation, the last Bomb of the Music Industry! album.
Talked about this record for like 2 hours getting my tattoo yesterday. Guy designed some merch for End It and knows the TUI / Angel Du$t guys so it was fun to get real insider baseball with it.
Strategically looked for the spot that most resembled the Birds stage from the video. no double rainbow smh. i fully submit myself as a poser and a sell out.
Had to go into the office unexpectedly so I’m here absolutely blasting this record through my Bluetooth speaker. Shit rocks.
