Damn we broke the site anyway yea this rocks, but it’s fair to say it’s too similar to glow on and I hope they branch out even more on the next one Jet ski vinyl is here and it’s beautiful I need to punch bags to Sole ASAP
Upon a few listens I think some of the individual songs off Glow On are better but the album experience as a whole feels more complete on Never Enough. I wish I could connect with the last two songs because that's where it loses me a bit but frankly everything else works so well in conjunction with one anothwr.
Yeah, I think the step from Time & Space to Glow On is bigger but this feels more cohesive and more in flow.
I think Dreaming, Sole, Light Design, and Slowdive (sucker for anything Sabbath) are my early favorites.
This is grabbing way more than GLOW ON as a cohesive work, as awesome as GLOW ON was. Band is talented and deserves the success they’re getting
I'm really sorry that sucks. this happened to me at the Basement show at Brooklyn Steel and there were about 8 of us that got got
Album of the year for me. Love it so much. This definitely feels like Glow On 2 but like people are saying, more cohesive. Besides TLC, the end of Glow On kinda loses me but this one kept me the full time.
Yeah, this has been the most exciting for me. Most of my favorite bands released new albums in 2023 or 2024, so they're all on break. Motion City Soundtrack, Yellowcard, and the Starting Line putting out new ones has me excited though for what the rest of the year has to offer.
I’m on my 3rd-ish listen. I think I’m going to like this full record more than glow on, but I don’t think I will latch onto individual tracks like I did for that release. NE is more cohesive than GO and I think the songs that lean into their new style are better. I wish there were more aggressive tracks on the record, but only because the ones that are here leave me wanting more. I think the commenters that are simultaneously saying that glow on was genre defining but also that this is more of the same as glow on are weird.. did you like or not like that record? I think you could combine choice cuts from this record and glow on and have a release that rivals T&S.
Rewatching some old videos I took of the first time I saw them play my local skatepark in 2014. Absolutely insane the trajectory they’ve had since. New album fucking rules. Can’t wait to hear these tracks live.
Just have been having this on loop all day. Took a break for the new Orthodox album tho and it rips. Also took one for the Wayne album and that was a MISTAKE.
I listed to this record a few times to see if my initial reaction would change and it did not. There’s a few new elements but this just mostly sounds like a copy of Glow On to me.. which is a bummer when I think back to the constant progression I heard from Pressure/Step/Move to Nonstop Feeling to Time & Space to Glow on. Each LP blew me away start to finish and this record didn’t aside from Sole, I Care, Dull, Time is Happening, and Dreaming. Big sad for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (listening to Sole while driving during sunset last night was a vibe though)
I agree with the overall sentiment but I can see how people don’t like how similar this is to Glow On. Can like something and not want more of the same the next go round. It doesn’t bother me as much as I thought it might after hearing the title track but I do get it.
This is solid, I like “I Care“ “light design“ and “Sunshowers“ the most on first listen. Curious to see if it grows on me, but as of right now it’s my least favorite of all their records. Feels like it lacks some of the swagger and urgency of their previous material. It kind of feels like they’re overdoing it on some of the interludes, and as a total aside the “breaking the boundaries of hardcore” discourse is exhausting. Would have been nice to experience it for the first time in a visual setting, though, can’t imagine that was really cool.
What are your thoughts on their early work? I feel like fans who listened to Glow On first would find their earlier works kind of inaccessible…myself included lol
That's how I feel too. Great album, but not a great jogging album. Glow On was a great workout album. Those moments can be awesome, the slower parts, the vibe, but it does dramatically change that feel from the pure energy of Glow On.
