They are doing a lot and not in a bad way. I anticipate this truly being a Turnstile Summer. Having found/gotten into them after witnessing them on the blink tour in '23, I am more of a casual fan than most and I've enjoyed each song equally (very severance).
Verses got me singing Sleep Now In The Fire. This is my favourite outta the four so far, guna try keep away until album drops from now as I anticipate another single/double before release.
Longstanding DIY hardcore ban puts out a MAGNUP OPUS that takes over the world and then follows it up with ANOTHER MAGNUM OPUS. Man first listen was a journey. Really pulled everything together in a way that I couldn’t have guessed. Beginning sounds like the dream pop, goes into a killer riff, and then just lets it ride out with a huge vibey outtro. Just feels deeper and more refined building on everything from Glow On. It’s unreal that they lost a core member who wrote the riffs and are following it up with such a strong cohesive record. This album is going to be a journey start to finish. Everyone seems to dig this one in a way the other’s weren’t capturing everyone. Love that aside from Never Enough, none of these are traditional singles.
With every single I keep feeling like this is going to be a glorious journey front to back. Love that they are not doing classic single releases. I am certain day of there are going to be holiday level hits they are keeping for the album drop. Still wild Never Enough had that tease at the end and they left us on the edge of our seats for track 2.
Other than the title track, I have not heard any of the other singles.. gonna wait till the album is released then listen to it as a body of work
Their best single so far, love how it seamlessly transitions from hardcore punk to some kind of baggy / PS1 soundtrack shit. Got Everything But The Girl's electronic material vibes from the second half in particular. I continue to believe they're being held to impossible standards atm. Who else is showing this much range in the scene? Asking genuinely, I need more genre-bending stuff like this
