They should've released Seeing Stars as the first single to piss people off. That shit slaps and Birds owns aswell

I really feel that they have moved their sound on enough to be interesting, but at the same time I truly don't understand why someone who liked Glow On would not vibe with these tracks. They're fucking excellent.

sympathy, talk talk, romantic, girl, apple, mean girls, think about it, guess.... at the least, I prefer to the original. I love them both, but brat and it's completely different takes the cake for me as a whole

    Ronstile.

Really dig that they put out two songs today. Blink did this with OMT and MTYK and this immediately reminded me of that. Slower vibey song, and a complete ripper to show the range. Peak stuff imo.

Seeing Stars is such a vibe. Birds is killer.

This band has been around over a decade and can get as weird as they want in my book. I like seein stars and think I’m gonna like it even more when I hear it with the whole album. Birds rips.

I like seein stars better. I like turnstile more as a pop band than a hardcore band personally

    Brenden on BBC 1 Radio:

About Seein’ Stars: Song is based on dreams and moments of dreams based in reality. I love the ability where a song can exist in one groove and tempo. It syncs into a feeling and you can get lost in it. wanted to create a moment to get lost. Turnstile music is also very drum/rhythm focused and about getting lost in a groove but this song allows you space.

Connected with Hayley a long time ago, she was in studio and it was a natural moment for her to join on vocals.

On Charli XCX: His first thought: Is this AI generated?! She’s such a legend and someone comfortable being her own person, happy to see those flowers given to her over the last few years. To be on that background was a cool thing they didn’t expect

Still excited for the record, but not feeling the singles so far as much as anything from Glow On

I think people have to understand that not every album can be a huge sonic leap, there inevitably comes a time where a band reaches the peak of how much more they can innovate and it becomes more about just refining their sound, making it tighter, becoming better songwriters etc.

“Seeing Stars” is a nice vibe, but it feels like a such a straight line for me. Like, I was hoping it would be a little more dynamic.

“Birds” rips though. Excited to hear the rest and a strain my old man muscles when they tour around here again.

I really love Seeing Stars and I think it’s going to sound even better as track 10 in context with the album. With Glow On, by the time you reach Alien Love Call, it just feels like a breath of fresh air, and then it helps elevate the back half - at least for me.

My edible started hitting right as I started the new videos. I wasn’t prepared for Seein’ Stars.

  18. Just heard both and they're great. Genuinely don't understand the divisiveness, but then I'm in the minority by prefering Time & Space over Glow On

Hope there's more 80s new wave shit through the remaining tracks

As mentioned, it depends what you want from the band.

If you’re happy for the band to (excuse me) glow on with the GLOW ON sound, then great - I’d expect you to be stoked on these songs.

But if you wanted the band to continue diversifying their sound, which we’ve come to expect from their discography, then I understand the disappointment.

The songs aren’t bad by any means, they’re just, kinda, there.

Songs are great so far! Seeing Stars was a nice treat and Birds rips. People get too in their heads with expectations and opinions on how artists should create their next project. I'll never understand it and they'll always be let down. Gonna have this album on repeat all year just like GLOW ON. Turnstile summer!

Thankfully Brooklyn has plenty of vintage clothing stores so attendees can look like A24 extras.
