We reach for the longest shadow

Man that’s so sad. Brendan’s dad is pretty old, 79, and apparently Brady just shows up at his house and causes a scene a lot? This time he came, left, came back and hit him with his car, then was yelling that his dad deserved it? This dude should’ve been in jail a while ago, good grief.

The detective report states that he also tried to run over Brendan’s sister and her three year old.

Safe to say he'll be making up for lost time in the coming years, especially if the detective report is true. That's truly fucked.

From what I see in Maryland, attempted murder in the second degree is up to 30 years. Assault in the first degree is up to 25 years. The charging document states they have video of the crimes from the neighbor's security cameras. The Yates family listed years of Brady causing issues with them after being let go from the band. Guessing Brady will be accepting a plea of some sort to minimize the potentially lengthy prison term. An additional sad note in the charging document is that Brady, after the incident briefly returned to his home and asked his dad for $200 for his friend to get a bus ticket.

band provided a statement to Rolling Stone:

"Turnstile cut ties with Brady Ebert in 2022 in response to a consistent pattern of harmful behavior affecting himself, the band, and the community. After exhausting every available resource to support his access to help and recovery, a boundary ultimately had to be set when healthy communication was no longer possible and he began threatening violence.

"In the years since, his baseless tirades have continued in public. We never addressed it. We chose to protect his privacy and the circumstances around his departure, even when he did nothing to be deserving of that protection. Over the past few months, his threats only escalated further.

"This past week, that violence led to a physical attack when Brady went to the house of Brendan’s parents and used his vehicle to run over Brendan’s father, causing severe physical trauma. We are grateful that Mr. Yates survived, has successfully undergone surgery, and we’re hoping for the best possible outcome in his recovery.

"We have no language left for Brady.

"Please respect our privacy in this time."

god, what a fucked up situation, there aren’t even words to describe what scum Brady is.

also just wanted to say something I have thought for a few days now … but I felt legitimate disgust that Brady leveraged an allegation of statutory rape against Brendan — presumably without explicit permission of the survivor (presuming this is even a real scenario that happened, which I am more skeptical of now given Brady’s psychotic behavior) — in an obviously cynical manner to try and bring down people he has a grievance with. if that person and scenario are in fact real, then like of course fuck Brendan and the band, but I hope if that scenario did happen and that person is real then they’re doing all right and aren’t re-traumatized by having their story blasted and weaponized in such a manner, and that they don’t feel pressured to speak out (or not speak out too). obviously outing people as predators and abusers is a good thing, but it should ideally be something led by survivors, and not something that is done in such a sloppy and inconsiderate manner. Brady was obviously more concerned with bringing down the band than actually getting accountability for that survivor.

and even if Brendan is guilty of that act, his father doesn’t deserve to pay for it, and certainly not his sister and niece! what the fuck

  21. I think that if someone accuses a person of heinous crimes and then tries to run that person’s father over with a car a few days later, that’s pretty compelling evidence that we shouldn’t believe a word they said about the person

Yeah I would never take an accusation like that lightly, but given Brady's recently behavior it is entirely possible (and likely?) that these are just delusions he's choosing to believe.
