Citizen and Ceremony played a one off in a 350 cap room in Cincy last week and did the same thing but the crowd loved it. Wonder if it just didn't translate live with a bigger venue? Edit: Wasn't too familiar with Ceremony except a few songs but left the show a fan
While we are talking the awesomeness that is Ceremony, check out the new Spice album that has members from the band.
Saw them in Brooklyn at Knockdown Center on Sunday night. They were amazing. One of the most fun shows I've ever been to. I was in and out of the pit constantly. It hit 90+ that day, so it was HOT! Never sweated that much at an indoor show. I walked in telling myself this was probably one of the last shows i would go hard in the pit on account of hitting my 30s. I did, I'm glad, and now I'm sore. I think i stand by this decision, haha. Gotta take it easy, but it was so worth it. One of the best shows I've ever been too.
surprised by how many people have never listened to ceremony. rohnert park is a masterpiece. violence violence is great too. the streaming/cd version of violence violence has the ruined ep tacked on at the end, which is one of my favourite hardcore eps of all time
That's good to hear. It seems like bands are becoming more and more okay with members taking necessary step backs like that. Protest the Hero's main songwriter/guitarist isn't touring anymore but he's still in the band. Wanted to stay home with his family and to run his business (Sheet Happens).
I thought every band ripped. Truth Cult sounded great, Ekulu got a way better response then I expected. Ceremony was the best I've seen them and Citizen always crushes.
I’m gonna be 38 this year and still hit pits. Best one was PUP last month. Stretch. Drink water. Earplugs. It makes all the difference in the moment, and in recovery. Don’t deprive yourself of something you love because of an arbitrary number!
was ekulu way louder than all the other bands? had some serious ringing going on post show and it honestly felt like most of it was from them
I was just talking about that this weekend, I think they will definitely be on next season which is pretty wild
I think that is definitely true when you also consider Hot Water Music not having one of their members touring, but still writing and recording. I will say that the whole Turnstile/Angel Du$t/TUI/Reaper Records/Pop Wig people are pretty tight knit and operate different than most. When Sean wanted to step back from Turnstile they just brought in Patrick from Angel Du$t and now Turnstile is his main thing. Sounds corny to say, but all of them are kind of one team.
