Haven't listened to any of their other stuff before tonight. Gave Time & Space a couple listens and I already think I like it better. Not hate on Glow On at all since it's barely behind Radical for my number one this year, and Radical is probably my favorite ETID album. But yeah
Honestly shout out to hate5six kinda blowing up a little bit too, he’s been at it for a long time but it feels like filming Turnstile right at their breakout point got a lot of people to suddenly discover him
Now that Tiny Desk performance was hardcore. I also need a studio rendition of that version of Mystery.
Kind feel like the work he did last year collecting old sets and then the live streaming he did also helped.
Probably don’t need anyone else to say that Tiny Desk session was good… but yeah - it was very good. Love these dudes.
Seriously, hate5six has been at this shit for over a decade at this point. He posted a video this morning of him stepping on a tuner at a Have Heart show 14 years ago. I'm glad he's getting more mainstream coverage at this point because what he's done for heavy guitar music as an archivist and a platform is incredible
NPR usually uploads the Tiny Desk sessions onto a podcast, but nothing’s been updated there since mid November and there’s been other sessions since :/
That little “Franz on the vocalsssss” “yeah that was awesome” at the end makes me wonder if his part in ALC was totally improvised
does anyone have video of their BBC session from 2021? the audio is still out there, but the video is seemingly gone. It's black and white footage with a few people sitting on the soundstage watching them play.
