Very surprised these guys didn't make my list. I'm actually kind of offended at myself.

 

I was late to these guys but still surprised they weren't in my top 5. It was only thing I listened to for weeks at the gym

 

No 8 on Rolling Stones list? Holy shit.

I almost liked this 4 times and decided against it every time

 

You made the right decision

 

I’ll have to revisit this album, but I wasn’t as wowed by it as a lot of folks were.

 

they were at number 6 on pitchfork list

 

This album rules 100%, but I'm still a little shocked by how receptive all the major outlets are to it.

 

Partly 1) it's awesome, 2) major label so they have a lot of marketing support

 

Pretty sure this is my aoty at this point

 

Definitely gonna be 25-50 for me. It was a great outing, but there were a lot of records this year I just liked better.

 

This and Citizen’s Life in Your Glass World are my personal AOTY

 

Speaking of only rock/hardcore/punk/whatever, I can't think of any other records that made as big of an impact this year as Glow On did. Just a good fuckin time all the way through. Definitely my AOTY.

 

Turnstile, Dirty Nil and Foxing were the rock/-adjacent albums that I loved this year

 

the one step closer record hit me like a truck

 

real talk either I haven’t looked hard enough or no other record hit me this way

 

Quicksand put out a killer record too - not really genre defying stuff like Turnstile, but a very solid post hardcore/rock record

 

Don't sleep on Fiddlehead, y'all.

I also love the Scowl record that dropped a few weeks ago, How Flowers Grow.
