I wouldn’t consider GLOW ON a step down by any means but definitely still prefer Time & Space. It’s a little more concise and focused while still bringing a unique flair
I get that, but the fact that GLOW on is the opposite of concise and focused is what I love about it more. They try SO many different things on this album and they nail every single one of them.
For sure! Yeah that’s why I don’t really see it as a step down, a record like this makes perfect sense in their creative trajectory, and they came through in a big way. To see them basically say “fuck it, we write what we write and it’s all Turnstile” is really inspiring. But I do think T&S sees the peaks of their more traditional sound, which is still what I primarily reach to them for
I mean, it's solid straightforward punk, but T&S and Glow On are extremely unique so it makes sense they stand out more
I wasn’t really into Nonstop Feeling back when it came out, but started to like parts of it over time. Just hate the way the drums sound on that one
every time Kenny Golladay makes a catch i yell "NOW ITS A GOLLADAY" and my wife looks at me like i'm insane.
Nonstop Feeling is definitely unique especially when it came out imo. I still don't think I could pick a favorite between the 3
This is their best by a whole lot for me. Takes the biggest number of stylistic liberties compared to their earlier albums, all of which pay off, and the production and mixing is pretty much undeniably sharper than anything else they've done too. Bigger sometimes is better and that's definitely the case for this album
Jfc what a year this band has had. If you told me even 6 months ago they’d be taking a run at Emmy noms I’d have insisted that you log off and go outside
Also, how the FUCK is “Holiday” not getting a push for one of those awards? I know Mystery is a banger (they all are) but that song goes hard as fuck.
