I’ve been doing this since 2015 (for general listening, not running) and it really increased the rate that I consume music and find new artists to listen to. I just label them by the month/year. It also means Spotify never gets the jump on me when they give me my year end playlist.
i dont even know how to play my spotify library on shuffle. i just create playlists of all the albums i like and listen that way, with the occasional running playlist getting created/updated every couple months.
Your spotify library consists of songs that you've "liked" I'm pretty sure. I never "like" any songs or albums, so I don't really have a library to shuffle.
i switched to apple music when it launched in 2015 and have never looked back. i used spotify from 2011 to 2015.
I'm way too particular about my music library. Only had Spotify for a day before I switched back to Apple Music.
I should bite the bullet and switch to Apple but I'm sooooo integrated into their ecosystem for my suggested stuff it would be hard to switch. been on premium since 2012 so thats a lot of listening data.
thats why im glad i bit the bullet immediately at launch for apple music at now its been 6 years of using it
Yeah I'm too far gone to switch to something else. I have friends who jumped ship from iTunes way back and they're still struggling to find a platform they enjoy
I hate the way Spotify handles singles and stuff lol like all the "eps" everytime a new one is released. I like how apple arranges it all in the final album and just doesn't have all the songs available.
I've been Apple Music from the beginning because it fully integrated with my existing iTunes library. They also pay out nearly double per stream that Spotify does AND they have Atmos and lossless streaming built-in.
Spotify UI is absolutely terrible. The way iTunes does their playlists, how you can arrange them, all the categories.... just so much better.
