Show last night was tight but damn the merch line was insane. People absolutely missed Turnstile to buy Turnstile merch.
This is a question for people who have gone to a "recent" Turnstile show (and I use that term loosely). All the reviews these days mention the overall positivity of the live performances, but the last time I went to a Turnstile show (Wrecking Ball in Atlanta like... five years ago (shit time flies)) there was definitely a large contingent of meatheads/teenage hardcore boys who were definitely there just to wreck shop in the pit. 90% dudes in the audience. That could've just been because it was a fest, but I'm genuinely curious as to how their audience has changed since. Anyone have more recent experiences to share?
Right. My username outs me as a fan, but most people are saying Turnstile has vibes of EARLY 311. I get it in some songs. I can't necessarily pinpoint a track, but it's just a feeling. And Nick from 311 is a huge Turnstile fan too.
Loving how many genres and moods this album flows through effortlessly. Not a single "meh" track I can find on my first listen. Feels like a great evolution of Time & Space.
311 is a fun, harmless band full of solid musicians who make solid tunes to smoke out to, there’s no need to hate on them. Like grab a fatty and vibe out to Amber or some shit.
