Echoing some earlier comments, I really like how fun this sounds. The variety of influences + the switch-ups are well integrated. Nothing feels out of place, it all flows well one song into another. For some reason, listening to this album makes me miss Hostage Calm, "Don't Play" reminds me of their S/T and the cleaner singing style gives me that vibe at times as well.
I’m not sure I could even pick favorites off this just yet. I love it all, and it all works so well together
Just happy I got to see them at a small venue show in Chicago right before I moved back to Virginia in 2018. I miss living in a major metro area when it comes to shows. :/
Yeah this pretty immediately skyrocketed up my EOTY list lol just awesome stuff. "Underwater Boi" is next level
Ha - I just moved to Virginia and I'm trying to figure out the best places for shows compared to where I live. Lots of Charlotte/Raleigh/Richmond/DC trips in my future.
It’s hard to beat Chicago when it comes to having plenty of shows to attend. Do you like being back in Virginia more?
Having recently moved to Raleigh it's sad and frustrating how many tours skip from Charlotte to Richmond.
Does any one else who’s listening to this on Apple Music feel like it’s been turned down on volume? I have this thing turned up with my AirPod Pros on and it sounds like it’s half volume?
Dude thank you lol I’ve had it on for other records and it sounded just fine until I put this on? Idk maybe I’m tripping
What part of Virginia? I'm in the Hampton Roads area, and the shows here are kind of hit or miss unless its country or Dave Matthews. Though Thrice has hit here on their last and upcoming tours so I can't complain too much especially when Touche and Self Defense Family are playing with them. In terms life quality, yes. My family's from here. My wife wanted to move here to be away from the city and to start the next phase of our life. We've been able to buy a nice house here and start a family (one kid, another on the way) without having large financial concerns that we would've had if we stayed in Chicagoland with property prices and taxes (@Elder Lightning can probably attest to how crazy that was as a former homeowner in Chicago). I miss the arts, food, and my friends out in Chicago, but our quality of life has improved drastically so I can't really complain too much. Depends on what type of scene you're into - my buddy who lived in Charlotte for a bit always lamented that tours seemed to go to Raleigh as opposed to Charlotte when he was there.
I’ve accepted that everything vinyl just takes a little longer now, and am happy to still be getting one of the first batch of variants, but seeing that this is readily available at my local record store when my pre-order from 6 weeks ago hasn’t even shipped yet stings a little lol
