Jack Antonoff has been so preoccupied with whether or not he could produce albums, that he hasn't stopped to think if he should.
He can produce pop music just fine (although I think the production on the last Taylor record felt like beige mush), I’m incredibly skeptical of his ability to produce a band like that and successfully capture the energy of their live performance. Moot point given that this is hypothetical I guess
I’ve been heavily into Deftones recently and it’s got me thinking of this band. My hope for Turnstile is continue pushing forward with their sound from Glow On and they become their own genre like Deftones have.
Whenever Turnstile pops back up, expect them to be playing the Rockville’s, the After Shock’s, the Sonic Temple Festivals in 2026. DWP (promoter of these festivals) are big backers of the band and want them to be future headliners.
And just like that, Turnstile on After Shock. Second from top on Saturday below Deftones. What a fantastic spot.
I came across this song today and it gives me such Turnstile vibes. From the riff to the frontwoman’s dance moves
This is fucking great!? This has such a catchy hook that I'm sure will stay on my head all year. Also get Santigold vibes from the vocals. Thanks for the discover!! edit: Yeah sorry but I'm obsessed They need their own thread. This is way too good to stay as a random recommendation and dismissed right away or overlooked edit2: An album with Dennis Lyxzen and Jason Aalon Butler featuring on the same song... and chorus.fm has been completely unaware of it all along? Wild
Ha yeah I’m in the same boat! Ever since I’ve stumbled across them on Thursday I’ve been obsessed and deep diving into their stuff. All thanks to a randomly suggested reel on Instagram.
Yeah I thought it was a band because of the music video! Just dived into her short (so far) discography and I was surprised by the variety of styles tackled. I was in a huge dance-punk and post-punk revival kick after This Is Why's release and her music is bringing me back into that space.
lol someone shared a link on reddit they weren't supposed to. Looks like they're shooting a video in LA on Saturday.
