yeah i get it, depends on the phrasing. the whole "this conversation went to shit" assumes otherwise.
The conversation did go to shit. I've said it before, people constantly being reminded of all this stuff and making them discuss and think about it all the time makes people miserable and feel shitty. I absolutely see why someone would come in here see the convo and think wow thread went to shit.
that's not how it works though. silencing isn't just a literal thing, it is figurative as well. if enough people pile up against a person so it gets exhausting and not worth posting, then the allegations get forgotten, that's silencing. that's what happens with a lot of victims, they're worried about their own mental health so it's not worth bringing it up. and that's a horrible reality.
Well there are already plenty of posts about it, here and plenty of other places - dunno know how it'll be 'forgotten'
Does anyone know the wishes of the victim in this case? Just curious. I don't follow this band so I dk much outside of what I've been told and seen a while ago
I hate to be that guy, but that's life. If you're one person trying to push an issue and 5 other people in the same room don't want to hear it, that's too bad. It may be wrong, it may suck, but that's life. You can't make people want to listen.
the original tweet specifically said to share it as much as they could however that tweet was recently deleted people definitely forget about these things or people/new fans just don't hear about it. i totally forgot about the mac demarco thing until it was recently brought up you forget how small of a bubble this site really is
Because doing both in the same breath minimizes the conversation of the allegations. "It's a shame, I liked this bands music so much" and "not surprised this bands music sucks" (not that you or anyone here said either just an example) are equally harmful because they both act like how you feel about the bands music matters in discussing the allegations. And that's how I took your post, and it's easy to see why if you read what you said even if you didn't mean it that way.
well - we are specifically talking about this site. There are already plenty of posts about it...why not go out and call out these bands where you have some reach?
I think this album is going to sound very similar to PV. I'd like it to not though, I think one of the faults of PV is how static it is.
PV is just...fatiguing. a common thread in the yip records i dont like. but he's gotten much better in the last few years
Wasn't that sort of the desired effect? Literally asking lol...you're the production guru around here.
from a production standpoint i would imagine not, maybe in an emotional way but thats not what i mean
Gotchya. It's weird because I tend to not be into the whole "dreamy" thing. This is the first album of its kind to really draw me in.
