Hope everyone was able to get tickets this morning! I was gonna double down and go to the date here in Portland too, but totally spaced the sale time. Those tickets are loooooong gone and reselling for hundreds
whoever shared the Sound Rink pre-sale earlier this week was a huge lifesaver otherwise I'd have been screwed for my date tbh
Disc 3 1. Cutting My Fingers Off (alternative) 2. Humming (alternative) 3. Diazepam (alternative) 4. Like Slow Disappearing (alternative) 5. Take My Head (alternative) 6. Humblest Pleasures (alternative)
Two bonus tracks are just humblest pleasures and change irreversible. Based off humming alt I don’t think I’ll go for the 3xLP, still cool though.
I will probably reluctantly pick up the $100 deluxe of an album I already own, knowing I will listen to the bonus stuff like once, glance through the book and then let it collect dust on my shelf.
The alternate version of Humming feels more akin to their live version, which I am in no way upset about. I'm interested in hearing the rest of the alternate versions and performing some DIY karaoke in my room when the instrumental versions drop.
Austin is on the Brooklyn Vegan podcast, talking about the tour/album. Some really interesting stuff from the chat. They want to play some Magnolia-era songs too on the tour, maybe in a PV style to fit in. Some good talk about that era of the band and it seems they’ve softened to that period of their catalogue over time. Also, they’re working on new music and think going back to this album has influenced the new material to be a little more energetic and propulsive.
saw a vid on reddit that they played Most of the Time tonight. not sure if anything else from Magnolia was on the setlist but that's exciting getting closer to Sasha being played even once eventually
