See they really bore me, and I've tried to get into them every time they put an album out. Just my personal taste though, not trying to put them down. Honestly, I thought Turnover would too which is why I resisted checking them out for a while.
their new album is really great. if you want to give them a shot again, listen to Midnight Zone, Mediocre Love, and Fame off that album.
No joke, I've given them a serious shot every album. I just can't get into it, which sucks because I know how loved they are by so many people. And that includes a lot of my friends, who still think I'm crazy to this day for not liking them.
From Indian Lakes also got softer with their album last year and executed it perfectly if you ask me.
It was actually my intro to the band so I had to work my way back from it. I love both Absent Sounds and EFBN equally but I def need to spend more time with the earlier stuff
it's really weird. i should love AS and EFBN but i just feel something is missing. the band's ability to play off dynamics made able bodies so special, and i remember at first i was disappointed by that record. it's an all timer for me now and i rarely listen to anything similar to that anymore, still gets better and better.
i definitely will need to wait to hear the album as a whole before i can decide how i feel about these songs. on their own, they're boring. but i'm sure in context with the whole album, it'll be a nice chill record.
Seconding the Pianos call. I've not been that into much by From Indian Lakes since Able Bodies, and I thought Seahaven peaked with Winter Forever tbh. Also, the more I listen to this, the more I dig it. I love the bass on this.
I actually adore this song...maybe more than Super Natural. And I love Super Natural. My god I'm excited for this album. This is summery bliss to my ears. So mellow. The bridge is nice and ambient as mentioned before, I'm enjoying the bass on it. I think this is really promising. Odd choice on the first two songs being the singles though?
The new song is great, like it more then Supernatural, sounds like this is gonna be a nice chill album to listen to during a summer breeze
