I put it on during an hour-long group hangover drive and it was received very well. Still really love this record
i liked reverie lagoon a lot when i first got it but at this point its too inconsistent for me. the songs aren't bad but its just not a style i come to a lot; i do have it on vinyl, would probably be willing to part with it if someone wanted it
Reverie lagoon is definitely more “sad” for lack of a better word—lyrics and melodies feel more inspired by loss, if that makes sense. This record is pure optimism throughout.
Reverie Lagoon is fantastic. I miss Seahaven. I put this on in the office the other day and at one point of Sunshine Type we were all kind of just staring out the window at the sunny weather. I still love this record and I think it makes a lot of sense when you see this:
Yeah, it's definitely easy to see how the band wrote Good Nature, especially Austin surrounded by that kind of environment. I listened to this album on repeat endlessly when it came out, but haven't come back to it a ton. I like it about as much as Peripheral Vision, but for different reasons, but I come back to PV much more because it's more accessible.
i come back to this more than PV, though i went back to PV all the time before this one came out. let's see how much i'll come back to it this year
This definitely seems like the more accessible record between the two. I like both but as said they serve different purposes. Its awesome to see the Reverie Lagoon love here though. That album has an incredible atmosphere.
I would say PV tends to ring more with the emo crowd whereas if I were to throw on Good Nature to a group of people who have never heard Turnover before, it’s an easier and more relaxing listen. Definitely more accessible imo but doesn’t necessarily make it the better album. I definitely prefer it over PV tho.
I need warmer weather to REALLY get into Good Nature. Hopefully by the time May/June rolls around I'll remember I said this. I have the LP and everything.
I haven't been spinning this too much lately, not really the right time of year. PV has been getting a lot of love from me though. Its an amazing record for dreary New England winter days. I'll probably always love PV a lot more than Good Nature just based on the sentimentality of what those songs represent to me.
I still listen an awful lot, more than PV lately but that's because I have listen to PV SO much (alongside After The Party it's my favourite record of the past 3 years). This album reflects the happier place I am at now and that makes it an easier listen, even if I prefer PV.
making me realize there's some serious fame and fortune waiting for anyone who slaps together some half ass.... ...hold my beer. I think I just had an idea.
Just watched that video and woah.. these guys used to be nothing more than a rip-off title fight band. Talk about evolving.
