All this drum talk made me remember that Turnover with better drumming already exists and they're called Souvenirs.
I highly recommend them. One of my favorites of the year so far. They also got Davey Havok on a song haha.
I liked some songs off that Souvenirs album, but the hooks or lyrics aren't as strong as GN. Still enjoyable though. Luckily drums for me are something that can enhance something, but they don't actively take away if it's boring. Can't believe TWIABP drummer hasn't been mentioned, his work on their last two albums is absolutely phenomenal. Perfect drum production too.
I'm not a drummer by any means but the fills in January 10 are a cherry on top of an already-perfect song.
PV's lyrics were fantastic. This album doesn't do much for me lyrically as a whole, but some songs REALLY impact me.
Next to Seahaven's Reverie Lagoon, this is my favorite record to listen to while staring out into a large body of water.
It's like dreaming about your ex, lying lakeside in tall grass, where you can hear cattails sway in the shadow of a descending August sun
Last month I found a used copy of Reverie Lagoon at the local record store, couldn't believe anyone would hock it. Honestly one of my favorite albums from the past few years. Wish that band was still around.
glad to see some of Love for the Seahaven record it's glorious my pretentious description: sunlight refracted through the prism of loneliness and melancholy
