Find myself returning to this more than albums I enjoy a lot more. It's decent background music

Saw these last night in Birmingham. The opener had Austin join them on guitar and they covered Redbone by Childish Gambino. Really cool.

Turnover were brilliant. Heavy on the new album but the set was fantastic.

    missing out

I genuinely am feeling this for my AOTY this year. I know it's a couple of months premature, it's just connected with me on a level that not many albums do for me. Without getting too personal, I've had a fucking rough year, but this album was released at a time when things started picking up. I finally got myself a job, started becoming more confident and my own music started picking up too. This album was the positivity that I've been so sorely needing this year, and it came at the perfect time. I know there have been "better" albums released this year, but I really haven't connected with any anywhere near as much as this one. Brand New are one of my all time favourite bands, but even their album didn't pull me in as much as this one. This album was simply the right one at the right time, and I'm just incredibly thankful for Turnover for making an album that has soundtracked the end of the bad shit/the beginning of better shit for me. I know this is a wildly subjective and individual perspective on the album, but for me music is all about how it makes you feel, and there are not many albums I have heard that make me feel the way Good Nature does.

(I am sorry for such a self-focused post, these are just some thoughts I've been having for a while and haven't really expressed yet.)

I was thinking of albums that came out this year and I completely forgot about this one. Not a bad record but probably my biggest disappointment of the year.

definitely my AOTY. blasted it all weekend at the lake a couple weeks ago, so it is permanently attached to great memories. Already my most listened to album that came out this year.

Nothing can beat Brand New, The Menzingers, or Tigers Jaw for me, but this is a great album and it's in my top 5, just behind Deaf Havana.

Those 3 and Manchester are all top 10 for me, but Turnover really just hit the sweet spot of exactly what I want from an indie release these days. Peripheral Vision did it for my AOTY 2015 and now Good Nature has done it for 2017.

my first few listens to this were lukewarm at best but then it just blew up. definitely gonna be a top 5 for me, very few albums rise up so much that quickly.

I feel like I would appreciate this record more if I wasn't such a sad sack, lol perhaps if I fell in love this year.

    Its too positive

Spun PV a few times this week and still think it's better. Not to say this isn't fantastic and won't compete for AOTY

Peripheral Vision is amongst my top 5 of all time, so this was honestly never going to meet those standards.

But it's great that I had Peripheral Vision so echo my feelings when my life was falling apart on both a personal and professional level, and I was at my lowest, and then I had this to pick me back up in a year that started terribly, but ended in me finding love again, getting a new job where I'm earning more than ever before and generally finding happiness.

I threw this on last night and I really enjoyed it, think I’ll be working it back into the rotation. I know at first glance it can sound boring but they did something really cool here and they really worked in sme interesting elements that you don’t really see other bands doing.

I've got 33 listens of this under my belt so far according to last.fm. I really love it, and being married and things going okay for the most part, I can relate to this is a lot more than PV.

Saw them live last week on the first night of their tour. Something I noticed is that these songs definitely don't translate as well live as the PV songs do. Maybe they're still working the kinks out and Austin mentioned being nervous. You could also tell he was more confident during PV songs as he went into a fuller range and sang more passionately. For the most part, the drums just kinda trudge along and that really affects the live energy of their set. My friend and I weren't disappointed since it was a great show, but you could definitely feel a widespread lull during newer songs (I wish they played Curiosity, or other songs from the record that "pop" more).

For me, this is a headphone album. The studio version lends an intimacy to the meandering guitar riffs and lyrics-- something that was missing from their set. Drums are easily the worst/most boring part of the album. I think somebody mentioned how cool it would have been if they got a drummer familiar with playing jazz to record with them. I totally agree with that.

That was me, yeah. I like a lot of things about this album but the drums hold it back for me more than they probably should. They’re also super forward in the mix too, considering, which makes it more distracting.

This album is currently my least favorite album I've checked out this year. The drumming in particular is so repetitive that it makes it hard for me to make it through the whole thing. Curious, why do the people who love it like it? I'm not trying to be a dick or anything. I'm glad a lot of people love it. Just want to see if maybe someone can change my mind a bit on it.

Mainly the chord voicings are really cool for anrock band, a lot of extended harmonies, pentatonic harmony, I also think it’s overall just a really chill album. I don’t listen to it all the time but I think it’s well done for what it is and the vibe it captures
