Dude moved from Virginia to California, it makes a lot of sense after i learned that.

 

This was pretty good but far less memorable than PV and I'm not left wanting to revisit this and dissect it like PV either. But it's very pleasant and nice at the same time. I just love this sound haha.

 

PV felt very samey and unmemorable the first 5-10 i listened to it, then after becoming familiar with everything, I absolutely loved it. i think this will be the same.

 

Both albums are samey-- they embody a mood. I don't think that fact has drastically changed my listening experience. As someone who often listens to ambient music, music that drifts over me isn't necessarily a negative thing. Every once in awhile, I'll catch a meaningful lyric, a song's chorus will worm itself into my brain and stay there, I'll notice a particularly shimmering guitar riff. I understand the need for diversity in a record but I don't think I expect that from Turnover. This is an album I can throw on at the beach, in the car, during work--by the end of its 40 minutes, I'm feeling happier.

 

Somebody post a pic of that vinyl! Sounds gorgeous and I didn't have the money to spend on it.

I've always thought of PV as a stepping stone between their old sound and their new sound, so it didn't take much for me to like this more.

 

I've basically just been listening to this while walking to classes and Science Fiction during the night. Really wish I had this when I could drive around during the summer because it puts me in such a good mood. Sunlight coming through trees looks 82% better while listening to this.

 

yeah, this really does put me in such a good headspace. I love that about it.

 

First time I read this I thought it was a reference to the eclipse.

 

Someone already mentioned this, I think, but this will be nice to have on in the background while I'm studying this fall. PV too.

 

yea this album has been a nice mood improver, good for both studying and driving.

 

Didn't he (and his brother) start out in Louisiana and move to Virginia Beach as a result of Hurricane Katrina? Guess the Cali moves may have followed. I meant more tropical like an island.

The amount I like this album compared to last week is very strange haha

 

nice! I'm surprised they didn't do the background white instead of clear, it seems like the colors would pop more that way. or is it different in person?

 

Yeah, it would definitely pop a lot better with a solid white background vs the clear. I do like this pressing a lot though compared to most of the other ones. I feel like the shades of green and pink are just darker tones than they should be too. First time I looked at it I thought the pink was closer to red haha

 

I got the pink variant and it definitely looks more red.

 

How long can vinyl last in the heat before warping? I live in Phoenix and my vinyl is out for delivery, but I won’t be able to make it home until this evening.

 

I honestly don't know but this is what always scares me about ordering vinyl in the middle of summer.

 

not sure about heat but i accidentally ran one over once since it had fallen off the mailbox. corner was bent but the record lives!

 

Slowly getting into this album, though it's still not yet as compelling as PV.

The songs are starting to get stuck in my head now which means I'm about to really start loving this.

 

Sunshine Type has been stuck in my head for months, that thing is like the earworm to end all earworms.
