It's so short though, just inserted between the prechorus and chorus that one time. this is a little more interesting structurally than a lot of their stuff.
Originally, when I responded to the weird bridge post, I thought he was talking about the second prechorus cause its a bit slow. Love that part though. Everyday I love this song more.
1. Reverie Lagoon is immense 2. Keep You probably top 10 of all time 3. I really like the last Turnover album becuase it sounds like a bunch of punk kids discovered Real Estate and channeled them through a bit of an "emo" sensibility - this so far just sounds like pleasant Real Estate worship and well... I'll just do Atlas instead... hope I'm wrong though
maybe its my musical background, but the new real estate album bored me to tears outside of two songs. I like what turnover is doing here a lot more.
new real estate album is really good (not close to as good as days though) but hoops is the best jangle pop release this year
I'll give it another go because of yr endorsment but bored me to tears the first time I listened to it what do you like about it? if that even makes sense to ask...
did you ever like B&C at all? i think the songs are incredibly interesting and probably some of the riskiest songs of the whole RFC/nu grunge scene, like what band would ever put out for a walk? i love that song. wasn't like an album of the year contender last year but i really really enjoyed it and i never thought i'd care for the band again
love Real Estate and Ducktails. I need to listen to the new RE album again but Days and Atlas rule. saw Turnover on the On Letting Go tour. Was bored to tears by them. They sound sorta like a church band. not a B&C fan at all FIL is pretty good though
their last three records are all pretty different than each other. the newest one if you like pretty copeland sounding music, or able bodies if you're into more dynamic shouty indie rock/emo hybrid stuff
former stuff you mention is tricky - beautiful can be v boring too, its a hard balance to achieve; latter tends to be more exciting but can lack depth sometimes... this "scene" has a lot of talented people, but not very interesting a lot of the time too
i truly love FIL though, able bodies is one of the few records of that sound i absolutely adore, one of my favorites of all time at this point
yeah the latest one is kinda the only one I like. if only maybe because of some of the awesome and dreary sounding synths that wear their influence on their sleeves. pretty decent songwriting on that one too though
