Saw Turnover Tuesday night here in San Francisco and it was pretty awesome being my first concert in 18 months… so depressing. Livestreams have been great but it’s just not the same thing.
Widowspeak! Good for them. Between this and their last few tours featuring Men I Trust and Turnstile, this band really knows how to bring out a good package
I mean they’re Turnover and I’ve seen them a few times so it’s pretty much what I expected lol Loved hearing Much After Feeling and Plant Sugar live though
I always have a good time at Turnover shows. I especially thought the tour for Altogether was awesome. Really brought those songs to life seeing them live
Honestly, I feel like they've gotten better live as time goes on. I saw them open for Lydia right after Peripheral Vision came out and i didn't think they were good. I don't think they had their new sound down live, and the peripheral vision songs sounded like pop punk versions of those songs. It didn't have the dream pop sound of their record if that makes sense. I saw them a couple years later when they were headlining on GN and I thought they were awesome.
how much of PV and GN did they play? I’ve been listening to them a ton since the tour announcement and I’m debating going
They definitely feel their discography starts at PV. Everything prior has been ignored completely for many years now
Yeah I mean I’ve never given a shit about the EP or the split, but Magnolia is a lot better than it’s given credit for. Would love to hear some of those songs reimagined in their newer sound.
I am happily in a relationship again, so naturally it is safe for me to listen to Peripheral Vision a bunch. I really need to go back to Altogether because it felt so flat on my first listen, but several tracks have come up on shuffle and I find myself being really into them.
