They were really good tonight, which is not something I’ve thought all the other times I’ve seen them. Some guy brought like 10 giant beach balls and dropped them all off the balcony and they were knocking over mic stands and shit, it was hilarious

A couple days late, but I also saw them Friday and was really really impressed. I was a little worried going into the show that the new songs would just be kind of boring live, but it was actually maybe my favorite Turnover show ever, or at least since the first couple times I saw them.

First of all, i'm not sure if it's been mentioned in this thread but they've added a member live, which seems to have made a pretty big difference because it's freed up Austin for keys, and acoustic guitar which added some nice texture. They also just seemed way way way more comfortable playing the songs from Altogether than they did the first couple times I saw them play songs from Good Nature. I don't know if they practiced a lot more or if they just feel more confident about this album, but it was a noticeable difference. And then what surprised me the most is how dance-able these songs felt - my friend saw them for the first time and said it reminded her of the new Hellogoodbye, which I didn't notice before but actually can see. So basically just when I thought I was starting to get sick of seeing them, I'm pulled right back in.

New guitar player is the guy from Title Fight that’s not Jamie. Forget this name sorry.
Also this was my band of the decade lol.

Yeah when I saw them in London they were fantastic. The new member is great, and it's basically Austin and the bass player front and centre now. The new songs sound brilliant live.

They sounded really good and I had a good time but I don’t know how much of I priority I put on seeing them again live. I feel like the setlist was kind of weird too.

Yeah they didn't play Cutting My Fingers Off which was a big disappointment.

Easily my favorite Turnover song and definitely a bummer they didn't play it, but that's the only thing weird about the setlist to me.

  15. Yeah I don’t personally care about seeing it live anymore but it was definitely a consistent crowd favorite, surprised they had the guts to drop it

They played new scream which is the best song on that album. Was hoping for Bonnie. I think they played ceramic sky which is a weird choice without the sax.

Hello Euphoria is the best song on PV.

No argument from me, I love all of PV, I just don't understand what elevates that song above the rest.
That doesn't surprise me at all. This is the band that got booked as an opener for NFG before PV came out and played nothing but PV songs, haha.

EDIT: I looked it up, they did play one Magnolia song.

    New Scream
    Cutting My Fingers Off
I Would Hate You If I Could

My top songs from PV are the following:

    Cutting My Fingers Off
    Hello Euphoria
    Diazepam

Honestly though, I could pick any of them.

It's very possibly my favourite record of the decade, or at least top five, perhaps behind After The Party & On The Impossible Past by The Menzingers, Suburbia I've Given You All And Now I'm Nothing by The Wonder Years, and maybe just ahead of You're Gonna Miss It All by Modern Baseball.

Peripheral Vision is such an album album to me that I honestly can never identify most the songs by their names. Like Diazepam? Couldn't sing that song for you to save my life right now, but once I hear it I'll be like hell ya love this song. Same thing is happening with Altogether

I have lots of vivid memories associated with Peripheral Vision, it’s a really comforting album to listen to. Reminds me of driving around after my last break up, riding the train in Norway, and my grandma who recently died. She would always listen to my college radio show and write down lyrics of songs she liked so I could burn her CDs when I was home on break and she loved Humming.

    music and baseball.

i have been slaying this album this week. such a great album. i'm mad i slept on it at release.

  23. With the way they’ve cycled out songs as they’ve changed sounds, it wouldn’t surprise me if they get to a point soon where there’s nothing from PV being played live tbh

I view this album like I viewed GN... I think it's great when I listen to it, but need to be reminded to come back to it
