Really digging this album. "Temporary Love" is incredible and I love how seamlessly it seems to transition to the start of the record while listening on repeat. Was not expecting the horns on this since they were absent in the singles. I know it's pretty standard to release a bunch of singles, but I feel like I would have released "Much After Feeling" then "Parties" before the full record. "Plant Sugar" and "Number On The Gate" are fine but sound much better in context of the full record—I wasn't sold on them initially.
Giving it some more burn today. I absolutely love Still in Motion and Temporary Love. Trying to find my grooves in the middle to see how I feel overall.
Listened through it once so far and I think I like it better than GN, but it's hard not to feel like some songs sound like they're doing jazz chord guitar exercises lol
Loving this. Number On The Gate is probably my favorite, the bridge is just so good. No Reply and Temporary Love are also great.
I love the calmness throughout this record, it's absolutely a perfect grey rainy day album. Loving this.
I feel like they've tainted this album for me by playing most of it live on Saturday, after it only being out a couple of days. The crowd and myself were just so dead. Compared to their old stuff it just lacked energy, and haven't even had the appetite to get into it this week because of it now. Just feels like their past two albums have lacked the bite of Peripheral Vision. I wish I didn't feel that way, of course, as I loved PV, and I've seen them a fair few times live now.
Saw some lukewarm reviews on this and I’m overloaded with music right now so I’d considered holding off, but the reactions in this thread changed my mind. You had me at “Hey Arnold music” honestly.
I prefer this album to Good Nature, which I was never really that huge on tbh. It's fine but I find Altogether more interesting overall.
This album is really good, but y'all need to stop sleeping on Good Nature. Butterfly Dream, Curiosity, Breeze, and Bonnie are all top notch Turnover songs.
I've listened to Good Nature probably 10 times and every time I just realize that the majority of it is not for me. Altogether has better highlights but also probably some of my least favourite Turnover tracks and sequencing ever.
Good Nature is very consistent and is a fine album but I just think PV and Altogether have better highs.
