this seems like a troll comment, but I'll answer anyway. Much After Feeling is great, and always has been since released. Plant Sugar I could almost see, but I love it's place on the album. It breaks up a couple of the slower songs and helps pick up the pace at the end of the album. Parties, maybe, but it's still a good song. GN just had 4-5 songs that were good, but weren't really doing anything exciting. I stand by the statement that there is less filler here than GN.
Guys, it's just an opinion; I didn't mean to offend. Clearly my feelings towards the band have shifted. I did not enjoy GN nearly as much as PV (which I loved), but I enjoyed it. I did not enjoy any of the pre-released tracks even as much as GN. I haven't given the album a shot yet, just on that merit alone, but I will in hope I find some more to enjoy. TO ME, those three tracks already have this album a peg lower than the previous two.
Ope Ceramic Sky too. Love the sax going on, really adding a vibe. Very very pleased with this album. It's going to be odd seeing PV songs in between these songs.
Sorry to triple post but this is definitely better as an album than as standalone singles. Once you get into the vibe it’s great. Feels like what they were going for on GN, but a little more committed to the new style, and its better for it.
This record is a dream. So happy right now. Feels like a great companion to that Jay Som record that came out earlier this year
Not hitting me like PV did but I do like it more than GN on first listen. Not really what I typically listen to but it's nice dreamy pop music.
This is like... a little jazzy??? Kinda funky too? I'm liking it but I need more listens before I can compare it with the last two, but to me, this is pretty different from either of those.
Yeah I realllly liked this on first listen. Though tbh I’ve never been a huge fan of PV. I much prefer this more smooth/mellow sound from GN. It’s like they’re channeling OMNI era MtB, and I’m all about it.
Spent more time with this and I take back my initial comment on this, this is pretty great. Chalk it up to having a bad day I guess. This is definitely more dreamy than GN was, which I love but it definitely had more of a tropical/beach pop vibe. This feels like a walk or drive in the middle of the night, just reflecting on shit.
The delay and chorus effects in Still In Motion make me want to cry like ahhh it sounds like something in my head? I can’t explain...sounds like how I feel sometimes?
