cool that their old band was from wilm, didnt know we had any local bands here. wild to think I visited all the places mentioned in tethered, like, last week. anyway, heavy dismemberment plan vibes from this album
I mean, that’s a pretty tough metric when they’ve released some of the best records of the last few years but it’s up there for me personally
I actually love this album a lot more than I thought I would - stuck with me a lot more than a lot of bands with similar sounds
lot of great records today but this had some weird melodies that stuck out. I like it, I'm eager to return to it soon. I wasn't huge on the singles but as a cohesive package it works well. also love the cover art. kinda reminds me of the art for Mama I'm swollen
what other bands are doing this sound rn? i couldn't think of any immediate comparisons that I'd call like a diy band
very eager to check this out. I already planned to, bc they’re friends of mine, but the pretty much universally positive response has definitely made me more excited to do so.
soft loud dynamics and the way the vocals fill the expansive space of the music reminds me of early Interpol
I don’t hear it as much through the whole album, but the first single was giving me huge Car Seat Headrest vibes. Vocals especially.
it sounds like Ought and other post-punk bands with an emotional tip But it really doesn’t sound like much else
This is what I thought too. Reminds me a lot of the vocal crooning from a lot of early 00’s indie bands like the stokes and stuff, combined with some emo rock and post punk. Definitely a refreshing mix of influences
I know it's only the second song but student housing is what made me decide to really give it a proper listen.
