No real shock here. They're very pro-Republican.

I worked at a 3 doors down concert once and during their set they had military recruitment videos playing. Next to the merch table was military recruiters to help people sign up.

I'm all for having them set up a booth or something, but videos during their set? Crazy.

We can only hope that the band is Trump's kryptonite. I do have to confess that I owned the CD with Kryptonite and Be Like That. Probably one of the more embarrassing albums I owned. Right up there with Astro Lounge.

That's odd. I just saw them in September and they were playing either the music video of the song they're playing or just general stock video of dark trees and other odd things.

At least The Better Life (the 3DD album) holds up today better than most albums from that time period. I don't remember there being anything cringe-worthy (then again I haven't listened to it in 10 years).

I haven't gone through that album in a really long time. I only remember those two songs off the top of my head. I didn't last long as a 3 Doors Down fan haha. I was listening to some good stuff back then. This and Astro Lounge were outliers haha.

Hahaha I think Astro Lounge was one of the first CDs I ever got. That and Tal Bachman (the She's So High singer). Needless to say, I have no idea where they even are.

Nice name drop with Tal Bachman. I remember that song. That album had to be a bunch of filler like the Eagle Eye Cherry album I owned. I still stand behind that one song, but the album was pretty bland.

My first CD's were Bad Company "From 10 to 6", the Cars greatest hits, and the Space Jam soundtrack. I was setup for success haha.

I grew up listening to those Bachman songs so I can't bash it too much but looking back at it, you can tell he wasn't going to have another hit haha. Also, what a killer trifecta those 3 albums are!!

I didn't realize Tal Bachman wrote most of that record, including that single himself. Very few writing credits. I always assumed that was a different setup. Kind of changes my tune a bit. Interesting.

Yeah, his 2nd album came out in 2004. I wonder what happened in those 5 years between albums. He was dropped by Columbia and I'm guessing that was due to the other 2 singles flopping? Wow, I just noticed his father Randy is the lead singer Bachman in BTO.

I got guest listed to see them in August. At an 1800 cap theater.

Surprised anyone cares about this band

They're still a massive band especially down south. They're usually top 2 lines for most rock festivals they play. They just played Count Basie Theater in NJ in September. They sold out the 1500 person theater and the lowest ticket I think was $49. Granted they had popular openers (Pop Evil and Red Sun Rising) but everyone stayed until the end.

Are they the band whose lead singer went solo for a country career singing about the troops and stuff? Or am I thinking of Staind

I'm going to guess Staind because I know that frontman has a solo career. Break the Cycle, there's another album I owned haha.

This is definitely Aaron Lewis from Staind haha

But is a 1500 cap venue really that good for a band that had a 6x platinum record and then stayed relatively successful?

You gotta factor in the scale for them in today's market. They probably don't tour aggressively or pump records I wouldn't think. Most of their fan base in those platinum years no longer go to shows. The folks in that sweet spot are now in on electronic music, country, and various pop acts. Their "drop off" is not as bad/severe as most of their counterparts.
