Finished my rewatch of Season 2. It really aimed for an ending similar to The Departed. I liked the concept of government-business collusion but it needed several more rewrites. I don’t blame any of the main cast, but wow did it feel like a step down. Velcoro had a much stronger conclusion to his arc than Frank. I probably will never revisit this season.
All I remember is they kept mentioning and bringing up a henchmen who died that we never saw or cared about. And Collin Farrell’s shoe rant
I still think Rachel McAdams' Bezzerides character suffered from lack of focus, and the whole season would've been better focused on just the dynamic between Colin Farrell & Vince Vaughn's characters I remember thinking Taylor Kitch's character was a lost cause though - the less said about that character the better
I think adding a female to the main cast was a reaction to the “male-focused” criticism of season 1. They easily could have combined some personality traits and character arcs to make Bezzerides 2.0 and eliminated Taylor from the season.
