Good episode. Intrigued to know how this wraps up. My bet is on something NOT supernatural. Surprised to see love for the kid who plays Prior. His acting kinda sucks and occasionally takes me out IMO

this ep was fine, massive improvement on the first 75% of the season. insanely funny that last week ended with Navarro catatonic and bleeding from the ear and this week she's absolutely fine and no one ever mentions that. fanfic level writing

 

Yeah that was my one major complaint on an otherwise pretty good/great episode of TV. We just like...completely moved on from the end of last week like nothing happened with Navarro

 

We better get an explanation on what happened at the research base or I'm going to flip my imaginary table

 

another thing I'm struggling with is Danvers and Navarro going out to the community to y'know do detective work and ask about the spiral symbol and getting jack. then this week some random dude we've never seen before walks into the laundromat and tells Navarro everything she wants to know in a huge exposition dump. had to be a better way to write all that lol

TBF that only happens because I think Navarro shows the spiral to Quaavik who then finds someone who knows, no? He's also the same guy that found Tagaq for her

 

Seems like maybe they needed an extra episode or two

 

look fair enough but it still plays so clunky, especially cos none of the supporting characters in this have any interiority whatsoever and just exist to help or be in the way. legit didn't remember that the hunter dude had appeared before, Qavvik's whole personality is 'likes Navarro' and Fiona Shaw's character is basically a superhuman get out of jail free card for when the writers are in a tight spot. in 5 episodes she's found the bodies, set the leads onto finding what the spiral is, saved Navarro from drowning and is apparently gonna help kid Prior dump the bodies. wish I had friends who helped me half as much as she helps people she barely knows!

 

I though that was maybe the same guy who knew Clark from the bar before but I don’t know for sure

 

I don’t think they needed an episode or two, feels like they should have cut the first 4 episodes into 3 and saved the last 3 for what we’re getting in 2

 

It’s a mess but at least now it’s an entertaining mess.

I feel like this season is ok…I have a few gripes but one of my biggest gripes is that they absolutely abuse the use of music. Not every pivotal scene needs to have its own song. It’s ok to not have music in every scene.
