The flashback with Jodie narrating and lying about what happened was really well done. Probably my favorite moment of the season so far.
Ok the exorcism scene was hmmm. But overall I'm enjoying this episode. But I have something that's been on my mind. Lemme stress, I'm not saying anyone here is who I talking about beforehand. I just feel there's a group of fans or people in general that aren't happy with a snow led by 2 female leads and therefore review bomb and won't even give the show a chance. I've seen it in other media and while it's not outright in the open like...let's say Captain Marvel in the MCU....I really think there's fans who aren't happy with the fact this is the first season with female leads. Just something I've pondered. But like I mentioned first, I know y'all's good ppls. There just others out there.
From what I read review bombing is happening but aside from those trolls this has had good spots but has been pretty underwhelming. Doesn’t help that the early reviews hyped the hell out of it.
I’m still in and am happy that the mystery is ramping up a bit but they need to make more strides these next few episodes. Hope they land it
He has a right to not like the way Night Country was repackaged as part of the True Detective series, and furthermore connecting season 1 to this new story in what is most likely an attempt to win over the original audience. He should 100% be using better tact to direct his anger at HBO only. I’ve generally enjoyed this season but that Deadline article is being deceptive in calling this season “well-received and highly rated”. It’s been pretty mixed everywhere I’ve looked.
It has a 93% approval on RT and an 81% on Metacritic. The fan reception has been mixed, certainly, but they’re right to say that critics love it.
i think he has a right to be disappointed in the writing of what is, ostensibly, a continuation of his creation and can direct it at the writer if he wants but yeah he comes across like a good ole boy doofus i'd probably be pissed too, i just wouldn't be a dipshit about it in instagram comments
I was really in on the premiere but I’m finding the writing and characterization to be really bad these past two episodes
I can’t decide if this is fine or awful. Maybe I’ll need to see the end before deciding for sure. The more they have leaned into the curse stuff, the less interested I am. I should have seen it coming seeing as we only found the dead dudes in ep 1 due to a separate dead dude showing someone where to find them.
