Wouldn’t surprise me considering he mocked Cary F in s2 with a Director character. Though also Cary F is fucked
watched episode 2 and I'm still mixed on this. I will admit I got a chill up my spine when Shaw's character drew the spiral but it's hard not to feel like they're just using callbacks to the most popular season as a prop here. there's something cynical about it and I'm assuming it'll bail out on all the supernatural shit at the end just like s1 did lol my larger problem is the two leads are just so hard to watch, they're a deadly combo of terrible people and really boring so far and I'm just not sold at all. Foster is doing her best but that dialogue they gave her "you can't doodle on my kid's head!" was just as bad as the infamous Colin Farrell scene in s2. Reis acting is just really bad so far unfortunately, so wooden. Peter is the only character I remotely enjoy seeing on screen so far on the plus side I'm really into the setting of this. scares were a lot stronger this week too, the dude screaming got me good and there's some John Carpenter vibes going on with the frozen corpses. also had no idea Christopher Eccleston’s in this, he instantly makes a season of TV better just by rocking up. I hope his character lasts longer than the last show set in the Arctic he was in
The hype had me expecting a more well made show - can’t disagree the dialogue and acting has been a bit rough in spots. But 1/3 of the way in I’m definitely compelled by the mystery and I liked how significantly the stakes were raised this episode. Excited to see where it all goes even if TD as a series is never going to deliver on the masterpiece promise of the first half of season 1. side note: love to be reminded of Mare of Easttown, that show rocked
Really enjoying this. I'm one of those who loved S1 and wished it got even more supernatural horror so not only is S4 giving me those kinds vibes but it ALSO tying to S1 (and S3) is making it for me.
Really enjoying this so far. If you can’t get past goofy dialogue how tf are you still watching TD 4 seasons in lol
I can get past it, that's why I'm still watching this lol. doesn't mean I'm not gonna comment on the terrible dialogue when it pops up though
This is fine? Mystery and setting is enough to keep me watching, but this was incredibly overhyped in the early reviews. Coming off of watching Mare of Eastown last week certainly did not help.
But forreal I am loving all of this and legitimately have no idea they are gonna run all these threads together lol. It might be a mess by the end but I'm enjoying all the weird shit
I'm continuing to enjoy it as well. Having the entire show take place at night creates such an eerie vibe and aesthetic.
