Thought this was pretty good. Kali Reis was a little stiff but I think she’ll get better

 

I just watched the episode of The Leftovers with that song in it yesterday so it was funny immediately hearing it again in this

music choices were really great on the whole, I'm mostly impressed with that so far

 

I never watched any of these and season 1 marathoned Saturday so I watched most of it and get the hype. But I digress…is it the same song they used all throughout season 1? Because when I heard that song in season 1 I was like hey it’s the leftovers song lol

 

nah it's in s2 of Leftovers. the Matt episode iirc

 

sorry realized I worded that weirdly, I meant the song they used in season 1 of true detective

 

They used the song in Big Little Lies S1 too.

 

Good premier imo, just enough weird shit set up to hook me and The Thing influence in the opening was cool. Love how dreadful and depressing the setting feels this time around.

 

My take from the first episode is that I hope the Spongebob toothbrush guy survives the whole season.

 

Why was that parade scene from Ferris Beuller just playing on a loop for hours? lol

I watched episode one, I’m hooked I think. Having just recently watched season 1, I’m very intrigued by some of the visuals and possible ties

 

I am dumb that I didn't immediately catch the Lone Star beer being a link to Season 1 and that being Rust's beer of choice.

 

And the best of a regional light beers in the U.S. Rainer & Cold Snacks can suck it.

 

That premiere made me want to watch The Thing and X-Files 1x8 Ice

 

just remembered the best thing about S2 was her playing solo in the dive bar while Collin got blasted

 

no the best thing is colin farrell telling a child he's going to fuck his dad with his mom's corpse or whatever and also saying that smoking an e-cigarette felt like the cig was smoking him, whatever that means. nic pizzaman is deranged.

 

I still listen to the Lera Lynn songs from that season. Good stuff.
