Sorry to carelessly bump the Trophy Scars thread without Trophy Scars news But looks like we're getting a new Super Snake record soon (Trophy Scars psychedelic doom metal-ish side project thing)
My first thought is THE KEYS ARE SO GOOD That was a really fun listen. Didn't feel like it was trying to replace the original (considering the lack of production quality added a ton of charm) but gave a fun take on their old sound NOW DO DREAMS OF NEW ORLEANS
love the original, remake is very tight. Is the upcoming LP a full remake of Alphabets, or is this just a weird one off?
We need 1 from each old post-hardcore release Dreams Of New Orleans Traps and Tricks Artist. Artists. Hair Trigger Flamenco
Hmmm maybe it's not a one-off "upcoming special physical release" could mean a lot of things I suppose. Could be a redo of other old songs, could be special edition of the new album, could be a RSD single, who knows
Alchemists is still my favorite TS song. I don't think most of that album really needs to be rerecorded. Its perfect as is.
I agree, I feel like the quality of it is what gives it a lot of its charm and allows it to be as creative/versatile as it is. If you rerecord it as a whole I do think it loses something I think Artist. Artists. is my favorite song off Alphabets. followed by the combination of Yes. No. or maybe Addict. Addicts.
I need to go back and listen to Bad Luck and all of the EPs. I loved their first few releases and didn't get back into them until Holy Vacants. There was something off putting about Bad Luck when I first heard it. I remember enjoying it when I listened before the reunion show, but haven't listened since.
Holy Vacants made me like Never Born Never Dead more than I did when it was released for sure, I think if they came out in reverse order NBND would've become my favorite TS release.
