Big nope from me.

 

I definitely think a record is coming, these songs are just them finally being able to work together on music in person due to the lockdowns here in Aus. Shake the cobwebs out and then focus down on an album after a tour

 

New song "Nobody Said" out officially tonight. My favorite of the three singles so far, you can really feel the emotion in the subject matter.

 

The last two haven’t done much for me, hope this one bucks the trend

 

For real, I was blown away by Chemical Miracle, liked most of American Dream, but all the singles since Figure Eight have me thinking it’s time to accept that they’re not for me anymore.

 

American Dream is so good. Really the only album I listen to from these guys. Only heard the first song they've released so far and I dug it.

Still think the vocals are what separates these guys from the rest.

 

Okay I actually like this new one quite a bit. I typically prefer these guys with a bit more of an edge, but this song is ridiculously catchy lol

 

All three singles do something for me, nothing hits as hard for me as Figure Eight though. I’m ready for the next era

 

Relistened to the singles just to make sure I wasn’t being overly harsh and I’ll admit, they all have their good parts. I was probably just salty cause they weren’t moving in my preferred direction. With that said, the band always seems to be experimenting and growing their sound, so I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t hoping that the next album hits me right.

 

The singer said on Instagram that they’re trying to encompass all of their sounds for the new album whilst also trying new things so hopefully there’s something for you

 

0 for 3 on these singles for me. Really bummed, but something about this more rock-centric sound just falls flat for me. I was already lukewarm on this record (some great highs and some lows, to me) so I'm hoping I find something to latch on to with LP4. I don't need them to go back to their old sound but a song like Figure 8 was vastly more engaging.

So, so happy to hear this sound from them. I was 50/50 on this record and did not like the new singles but this is resonating with me.

 

Singer confirmed on Instagram that the three singles prior to Blue Eyed Boy are not a part of any upcoming album.

 

Yeah, I had heard that but was worried they were indicative of the direction they were taking with the next record. Happy to be wrong - the songs weren't bad but I just couldn't get into them.

Dig this a lot! Can't wait for a full follow up to The American Dream, love that record

 

I assume Figure Eight won’t be on the record either?
