There's a local opener too, Hampton, but yeah that's the lineup. I hope the times line up so I can leave after Greyscale to go see SECT lol.
Ugh, five band lineup? Kinda hate those. I won't worry about getting there before 6 then. What is SECT?
Same I'm too old for five band lineups. SECT are a xvx hardcore supergroup. Andy Hurly from FOB is their drummer. They're playing at Blackwater the same day so I'm trying to catch their set. I meannnnnn Head North are definitely the best band on this lineup but yeah Free Throw are sick, saw them back in June and was really impressed. If set times work out I'll stay for them.
Having never really listened to any of these bands but Free Throw before deciding to go to this show, this is a weird tour. All of these bands are pretty damn different. And Head North fucking rule.
Can't wait for this tonight, who here is going? Stoked to see Head North perform new songs, and I've been wanting to see Trophy Eyes since they dropped their initial demos years ago.
Head North was by far the best band, but Trophy Eyes got the whole crowd moving. Free Throw was a lot of fun but he lost his voice after like the third song, haha. Grayscale was underwhelming and definitely had the worst sound of the night. They were a lot better when I saw them on the FYS 10th Anniversary tour though, so they might be better when you see them! This local band Dead Lakes opened, they were okay. Sounded like early Senses Fail/TBS. I ended up chatting with Brent and Ben from Head North and their merch person, they were all wonderful and nice people. Trophy Eyes didn't play any Mend, Move On songs, which was annoying, and they only played one old song (Band Aid). From what I remember, they basically played most of Chemical Miracle and the new song "Hurt". Head North played a bunch of stuff off their new record and "In the Water".
Anyone going to these first few dates and could post Grayscale’s setlist and merch pics I’d appreciate it!
Let it rain, Atlantic, fever dream, and beautiful things for sure. Idk the rest of their catalogue well enough to recognize songs
I had a lot of fun at this show tonight, Head North played probably my favorite set of the entire year. Definitely not a bad way to spend the evening if you're free.
Oh, the verse you could barely hear him (mixing went between good and shit all night), but the chorus he did pretty well! It was hard to tell, but it seemed like he was relatively on pitch. The guitarist doing backing vocals helped.
