Tron might work as a live action TV series, really enjoyed the animated series that came out a few years ago
Insane to make a movie where the hero is a girl boss and the villain thinks he can fly to the sun Jared Leto talking about Depeche Mode like he's killing Jared Leto
Pretty sure the last Tron film did well enough to justify a sequel. They just canned it for stupid reasons, waited way too long to make another, and made boneheaded decisions in making it.
I believe they canned it because another movie, George Clooney’s “Tomorrowland,” didn’t do well and it cost about $200 million. So Disney sat down and said they were only doing sequels for franchises that were guaranteed to rake in money.
I am no expert on the silly economics in Hollywood but 400 might not have been enough to break even. It wasn’t a flop but I wouldn’t say it was all that successful overall. not commenting on whether the movie was good or not. Just going off budget/marketing, etc. that’s all
The second movie did get a ride out of it at Disney world. So that says something I guess But also, Disney doesn’t know what to do with this property since all the movies have just been whatever. Maybe somebody else could’ve done something better with the material.
