If you can show me spots where hip hops fans have held an artist accountable for their actions, I’d be willing to entertain that. Just none that I can think of, I mean Snoop killed a dude and everyone forgot about it lol.
there’s been acts straight booted from tours, blacklisted, or seen their support drop incredibly after incidents in that scene. No one is saying any scene is perfect, absolutely none are, but there’s some that turn a blind eye a hell of a lot more than others. Travis literally brought a nazi sympathizer on stage last night and that’s somehow not the lead story, his album sales are.
It’s so stupid to compare these things because the whole thing stinks of racism. But for argument’s sake - we’ve seen it with R. Kelly and DaBaby. Also, Snoop wasn’t accused of killing the person, his bodyguard was. He was accused of being the driver and was acquitted. Meanwhile, in the punk “accountability” scene, bands like The Front Bottoms, All Time Low, Saves The Day and Falling In Reverse are free to play sold-out shows without ever having to account for the terrible things some of their band members did. The only reason Brand New isn’t playing packed shows while their psychotic fans shout down victims is they called it quits right when the allegations hit and thankfully have stayed away.
This makes absolutely no sense. What the fuck are you even talking about? What does that even mean? Cool. What do you think about him supporting a neo-Nazi piece of garbage on the album? What do you think about him giving a guest spot to a transphobic piece of garbage on the album? (You won't actually answer any of this.)
Not good things to do! Travis is a moron at best and a piece of shit at worst. The album itself has some high highs and some low lows. Lots to like here and some other stuff that's not great but this certainly wasn't the obvious followup to ASTROWORLD which I can appreciate
Honestly I have zero interest in returning to this outside of the Westside Gunn song, especially after bringing Kanye out.
Let me spell it out for you: it is confusing to me that you would spend this much time and energy in a thread for an album/artist you were never going to like. Did the smaller words help you understand me this time? As for the other part, there's no need to bait me, they are both completely unnecessary inclusions. It doesn't mean I can't listen to the music. What do you want me to say? Go talk about music you like. You sound stupid.
Well, this is factually incorrect and makes absolutely no sense. So it's funny funny that you think you're in a place to tell anyone else that they sound stupid. Your defensiveness over this album is embarrassing and childish. Someone not liking the album doesn't mean they didn't want to like it. You know how I handle albums that I don't want to like? I don't listen to them at all. You know, like a normal person.
Yeah, that's about the level of intelligence I expected in a reply to it being pointed out that what you said was factually incorrect. Real embarrassing shit.
I promise you all the album isn't good enough to get this worked up over, even if it has some massive production
It apparently is, based on my DM inbox: Would be nice to see some sort of moderation toward this guy, given than an argument over a mediocre Travis Scott album has now turned into creepy harassment.
I will reach out to them. In the future, try to use the report button if possible, if only to keep from dragging out issues like this in the forum. I understand your concern, consider this a reminder for everyone. Helps quash issues faster and brings it to our attention in a more direct way.
As a 37 year old man myself, who also happens to have a Link avatar, is there any specific genre of music where it is acceptable for me to get angry over an album? Seems like information I should know.
I’m sorry but you have been an absolute dork about this whole thing. Anyway, this album is surprisingly boring for something with such bombastic production.
“No need to name call” says the dork who literally DM’d someone because they can’t handle the fact that a fucking Travis Scott album is being criticized lol I’d understand what you’re talking about if this guy was trolling or being super obnoxious or something but that’s not what’s happening, or at least from what I’ve seen
