I honestly never saw him getting this big coming but I'm super happy for him. He hasn't even really had to compromise his sound at all either
They updated the album. Mixing sounds better, not as much clipping and Nav’s vocals are finally turned up during Yosemite
Have I been sleeping on Travis this whole time or is this album just that much better than his previous stuff?
Rodeo is still his best imo This is probably second though Check out Days Before Rodeo too if you haven't
I've been listening to a lot of I guess hardcore/other stuff albums lately and the mixing is so bad that I'm like how has no one gone back and fixed this??
Eh he’s as good as he can be but the problem is way deeper than who’s mixing it. Artists/labels just want loud, overcompressed and laughably bass heavy mixes because that’s what’s “in” and what they think people want. But the reality is the vast majority of playback systems/headphones are already bass heavy and their mixes sound like shit through almost everything you listen through. There’s very little if any hip hop being made right now that’s being mixed cleanly and smoothly
But this whole thing of releasing albums and changing the mix a week later is just so out of pocket I can’t stand it
If he’s playing arenas he’s overshooting and ticket sales are gonna be ehhhh IMO but I guess we’ll see
I think he'll do fine in arenas. This is one of the highest selling albums of the year so far So excited to finally see him after trying for years. He's playing both DC and Baltimore weeks apart so looks like I have a choice too
I'm in Dallas, but was considering going to Houston for the festival depending on who else gets added to the bill.
