It's more me joking on how I wanted a theme park album and this is more a space album.

Didn’t expect it, but I’ve come around to this in quite a big way. I still think he had higher point on Rodeo and Days Before, but this is his best project front to back.

Days Before Rodeo is a little better just because it's more concise to me but also I would argue it has the more higher highs but still ASTROworld improved on Rodeo/Birds.

I actually wanna know how this improves upon Rodeo in any way

For me it’s nearly every way. I really liked Rodeo too but I think this was just a better album start to finish.

That's interesting, to me this album is basically Birds run through a Rodeo lens without much of what made Rodeo so good

Nah I still prefer rodeo to this, just because of how innovative it sounded, to me that legit sounded like " progressive hip hop" if there ever was such a thing. Astro is Def his second best project and even in some areas it's better than rodeo ( he raps more and better on here and his lyrics are slightly improved). But the experimentation from rodeo is lacking as well as the overall ambitiousness.

Astro started strong with stargazing, carousel and sicko , and he had the potential to make some other world type shit. But I feel like his desire to appeal to a larger audience with a more toned down sound prevailed. You could tell he still wants to experiment but doesn't push it as he did with rodeo. For example I feel like skeletons and astrothunder could have both been expanded and easily become two of the best tracks on here , but instead he just keeps them minimal and interlude like. I mean the guy had freaking Kevin Parker produce a song and it ended up as a 2 mins song, that could have easily been expanded into something like 90210 or 3500 (something grand and epic , but still chill)

I honestly love this album, but it still has a lot of wasted potential imo and some throwaway tracks ( unlike rodeo which probs had one alone). Album is honestly overhyped, but it's still great. Just hope his next project is more ambitious

Flying high is the only Rodeo song I don't like much. His rapping here is very not memorable and the lyrics didn't stand out to me ever.

And progressive hip hop is exactly how I describe Rodeo.

I don’t like Wasted, Juicy J ruins it for me. Wish he kept Yung Lean on that.

The instrumental to Wasted is massive and I actually like the verses on it a lot. Both version are cool, maybe he should have mixed the two versions together somehow, that woulda been cool

Well to be fair when I praised the rapping and lyrics improving here, take that with a grain of salt because it's not anything special. Just better than on rodeo is what I meant. His verses on stargazing, no bystanders and houstonforication standout out to me tho

I think I can count on one hand the amount of times that Travis has done something to make me interested in him, so this is starting off pretty boring

I don't get why people like Yosemite, I would easily cut that song from this album. Can't Say is much better.

Can’t Say is v good too. Honestly if there’s a song that could go it’s Who? What? But even then I like that song too

Officially confident in saying/believing that Travis is HUGE. Gotta get out of that mindset that he’s not massive just because he was playing colleges a couple years ago. Those numbers are wild.
