Recently I was able to connect with the lead singer of hard-hitting rock band Colorblind, Travis Moseley, to discuss his band’s recently released first part of a new record, Who Sold You This Truth. I asked Travis about key songs from the new record, the band’s touring experience and the messages they want to bring forth in their music. You can stream Who Sold You This Truth here.

Thanks for your time today, Travis! Let’s first discuss your slick new single called “Neversleep.” Can you walk me through your band’s writing process on this great-sounding new track?

While we were writing on the album Curtis Martin, our producer, actually had a dream of that chorus melody and woke up in the middle of the night to voice memo it <Laughter>. He made a little demo of the idea to show me and I thought it was great. It’s always important to follow through with ideas that feel like they found you.

Your EP, Who Sold You This Truth, releases on September 12th. What is the meaning behind the title of the record, and what emotions do you feel as we get closer to its release date?

It’s not an EP – it’s part one of an album. So, I can’t quite give that meaning away until the whole record is released.

Colorblind recently toured with Dayseeker. What lessons did you learn from them and/or possibly each other during your sets each night?

It was definitely really cool. Just getting to watch how they control the crowd and how they relate to their fans every night is a cool thing to take notes on.

How would you describe a typical Colorblind concert?

We just try to bring as much energy and emotion out of people as possible!

What messages do you try to convey to your audience on a daily basis?

I don’t think we want to convey a specific narrative to anyone. I think we are here to write about our lives and our experiences, while also allowing those songs to take on their own meanings in other people’s lives. Watching our songs help someone or make people feel less alone is really cool.

How will you keep your fans engaged during the promotional period of Who Sold You This Truth?

We’ve got a lot of cool things on the horizon, so you’ll just have to keep a look out!

Now that you have some solid touring experience under your belt, what does the rest of 2025 and ‘26 look like for Colorblind?

We are finishing up our tour with BlessTheFall right now! Once we’re done, we’ll be buckling down and getting together a lot more stuff for part two of the album.
