I’m saying it’s literally impossible to do because of the choices they have to make in order to be part of the institution. If you are required to make unethical decisions, by the publicly stated goals, training, and methods used, in order to be a police officer, you’re not bad by association. You’re bad for participation, and do not share my values.

 

How often do these so called “good” cops speak out against or do what they can to hold the bad ones accountable?

I’m just flabbergasted about how easy it is for all of you to condemn every person. It’s easy being a justice warrior. Many people become cops because they want to stop the pedophiles. You do know these things are public, right? You should at the very least because I literally used the word twice when replying to you.

 

Even if this were true (it’s demonstrably not), the statistics are very clear that the police are HORRIBLY BAD at doing what you’ve just described as their goal. So bad that them not existing would produce almost the exact same results. Therefore I think any normal adult would be looking for alternatives to reach those goals that are not continuing to do what we know, factually, is not working to attain them.

I'd say most of the regulars around here are ACAB sympathizers because we can see abhorrent abuses in the system that go completely unchecked. Even the "good ones" look the other way when their fellow officers pull their shit
