11 songs in 14 minutes? Damn. Talk about not messing around.

 

New song is tight but I do wish the album was longer. Still stoked they're back.

 

What's the point of even getting into the studio to only record a 14 minute album? I get that hardcore/grindcore acts have super short songs sometimes, but why not write/record 40 songs? I dunno, just feels lame for fans to wait this long for an album and then it's only 14 minutes long.

 

Lots of punk/hardcore LPs are around the 20 minute mark or less. Plus plenty of bands get in the studio just to record EPs, as well.

 

Yeah I don't mind if it's short as long as it's solid.

 

Also surprised these dudes are dropping something new, I thought they were done for sure.

 

Yeah, I get that. But as far as I know, this is being called a new album, not an EP. Also, hasn't it been like 7 years since these dudes released something?

 

I wouldn't get too caught up in the semantics of EP/LP. Point is we are getting new TUI music. I'm sure people's schedules are a factor. Turnstile has been doing a lot of touring and is probably due for a new record since going to Roadrunner. To get new music and new shows is a cool treat.

 

I mean, of course. Any new music is better than none. Just wish it was longer, that's all.

 

I get that for sure, but I would rather be left wanting more than getting some filler. If these 11 songs in 14 minutes is the best stuff they have right now, then that's what I want them to release.

 

Canada Songs by Daughters was only 11 minutes so this feels positively epic by comparison, haha.

 

Definitely those sounds of AD/Turnstile creeping in.
