Well, no, but I don’t think they really said anything wrong. And I don’t understand why you’re making a stink about a 5 month old comment out of the blue.
A band member died. Another band member is going through gender transition. And they are saying the band are bad people due to weed being at a studio they recorded at. hello?
The more I learn about this band, the less I find myself being able to go back to Listen and Forgive, especially hearing the line, "Every critic is every cynic who lacks the drive and heart to do what I've done. So they rip and tear it apart."
bro literally *no*one* is saying that lol you are fabricating an entire argument that was never taking place
I started typing out a lot here, but I’ll just say if you read my post (from again, 5 months ago…) and think it is somehow criticizing anything related to Ella’s transition, I’m not sure you’re approaching this conversation from a level headed point of view. The band’s and producer’s reactions to any criticism, valid or not, to anything post L&F turned me off from the band, and looking back now at the lyrical content of L&F, it’s hard to not see that attitude was there all along. That’s mostly what I was getting at. Also if you read that article and think he “just had weed in the studio”, I can’t help you. He either A. Put his wife and two kids in a really bad position because of his illegal business, or B. Tried to use them as fodder to drum up support. It’s scummy either way, and I look at that type of stuff differently now that I have a family to support myself, so yeah, when he’s involved in these album very closely, it dampens my enjoyment of them. Well looks like I wrote out a long post anyway.
Nothing scummy about selling weed. More focused on Tim dying. And how much this band meant to me. Dont know how anything could mean more than a death like Tim. Go on.
They meant a lot to me too. Different people have different things that affect how they perceive music, especially with musician’s increased online presence. Is Transit above reproach because Tim died and Ella is transitioning? I don’t think so. None of my criticisms have anything to do with that, but if those things make anything else related to the band not even a blip on your radar, I understand. We’re different. I’m sure we’ve had good discussions on these forums as much as I post, and I hope we continue to do so.
Sorry. I just think its a rude comment to make. Judging over weed? I live in Canada but is it not legal everywhere now? lol. I hope all is good with you. I just think this site site can be more judgmental than positive sometimes. Transit was a big band for me and of everyone to hate on in the world they aren't the ones? lol.
Where are you getting that Micah shit on or hated on them? All they said was they’re apprehensive about listening to the band. The only rude comment in here is you asking someone if they’re stupid
Ill stop arguing online with everyone. Given a death in the band and what the current band members are going through I just think they deserve more respect right now. Thats all. #TimLandersForever
Also I just think there was a time where we supported this band. And I think now is the time more than ever.
Or maybe we should let people decide for themselves what they’re comfortable doing and they can choose for themselves how they want to support the band members
