my friend hit me up recently and i guess he got in touch with some dude who co-wrote with transit back in the day, they deliberately wanted young new england to be the way it was to get 'scene cred' and alienate some of their fanbase, then he sent my friend demos of what they were originally gonna have the new album be like at the time and apparently it was more in the vein of listen & forgive, he said some were acoustic and some were full band anyone else heard these demos?
I don't know about all of that, but I listened to "Outbound" while lifting weights the other day and I am 88% more jacked today
I mean, I believe that THEY believed YNE was good. But they didn’t react well to the negative reviews, so something tells me they did not purposefully torch their career. #GFYTN
Good timing to ask this: does anyone have a list of all the side projects the members, final and ex ones, had? I'm looking for the band(s?) the original guitarist Joe formed after leaving Transit. Can't recall the name edit: Found one of them through an old PropertyOfZack (now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time.gif) tumblr repost
The version of the title track that was produced like Listen and Forgive is great. I also think the songs were there, just an absolutely baffling recording/production session In case anyone missed it
after reading this conversation I listened to Young New England a couple of times last night, and I think it still holds up. I definitely like the Futures & Sutures version of the title track better, and there are a few clunkers on it, but there are a bunch of great songs too I definitely agree with these, which surprises me a little because I like Ted Hutt's work so much with Brian Fallon / Gaslight
Just watched Tim's documentary. Brutal to hear the gory details, but it was well done. I recommend seeking it out while it's still available online via Toronto Lift-Off Film Festival. $12 gets you access to their entire slate of films until July 7th.
Just finished the documentary, thought they did a great job telling Tim’s story. Was cool to see Jay Maas and the Cold Collective guys trying to figure out Tim’s demos, can only imagine how emotionally difficult that was.
I'm not sure Frank Turner understood the assignment, but Tim's dad sure choked me up. And while I realize it's not the entire story, I found myself questioning why Transit didn't alert his family for a group intervention. Instead, they just washed their hands of him and sent him home for good. His family didn't have a clue as to what the real reason was for his firing. But it's so easy to second guess in hindsight, especially when there's a tragedy involved.
Features: Toronto Lift-Off 2024 You'll then be emailed a link to the slate of films that includes the doc.

Just finished watching it, Jesus Christ does that make me sad. Addiction is fucking brutal. When lacy was talking about how quick he went from using opiates to them being a huge problem is wild. Also weird that John James Ryan is all over this thing
