Hey, trans woman here reading this weird back and forth. I’ve read from the beginning of the argument and genuinely don’t understand where this comes from. It feels like you made up an entire thing out of nowhere and are just trying to stir shit for no reason. You don’t have to do this.
Yeah, I'm not sure where this person is seeing any transphobia? They're just being weirdly aggressive & using trans people to do so kinda out nowhere lol. Like, leave us out of this lmao
Deleted my post, absolutely didn’t mean to take the bait of whatever tf just happened here. Listen & Forgive is great, I miss that version of the band. I miss Tim’s work in Transit and Misser and Cold Collective and Off&On, etc. Trans people are beautiful and internet arguments are dumb.
Yeah I’m sorry to everyone else for letting that troll bait me. I reported them after my last post and I’m not engaging further
What about bringing a rapist and the people that threatened those who spoke about it up on stage with them throughout their tour? Can I shit on the band for that?
before yesterday, the last post in this thread was from june. how about we just let the thread die again? i think that is a wonderful, wonderful decision!
First page of this thread has a post full of all the first hand accounts. Basically while the Harry Corrigan/JJR shit was fresh, Transit was doing their farewell tour and had No Good News open (I think?). They'd bring out JJR and Harry on stage and give speeches about how good of guys they are and a bunch of other shit. Paraded them around the crowd after Harry was accused of sexual assault and JJR covered for him. Very clearly did it as a response to the outrage over the entire situation.
Aah right I’m aware of this but through their affiliation with other bands, I forgot about Transit’s place in this. How many bands did JJR/Harry Corrigan have ties with…
Transit brought Harry out in their final local show to play drums (disregarding the awful things he did, bringing a guest drummer in was pretty rare in that scene, vocalist I could see, maybe guitar)I don’t think I’ve ever said this because I wasn’t sure what the reaction would be but when Harry walked by me in the crowd I spit in his face, maybe I didn’t get him good or he pretended not to notice but yeah fuck him and out of all of my concert related drama in my younger years that’s probably the most warranted
It's pretty hard to find a pop punk/hardcore band in the "scene" from that time that they didn't pal around with. TWY, FYS, Man Overboard, Fireworks, Ace Enders, State Champs, Turnover, Modern Baseball
Yeah he recorded JJR’s band with the Man Overboard dude. Idk how much he’s aware of the situation, just more a bummer than JJR got away with his shit
Man the reaction to YNE when it dropped was one of the most negative threads I’d ever seen. I participated wholeheartedly.
Definitely the most negative reaction I remember along with Burning at Both Ends. Funny thing is when I saw Transit tour the following year with Man Overboard the crowd was losing their shit to the YNE songs lol
Thank you for posting that link to the documentary, I just watched it straight through. Tim’s presence in Transit, and especially in Misser, have been foundational as far as my own drive to make art over the past decade. I remember working up the courage to try to meet him after a Misser show (the 2nd consecutive one I’d been to on that tour, in either Indy or Columbus) and being really bummed that he’d gone MIA right after playing, and it’s heartbreaking to know now how much distress he must’ve been sifting through. I’m going to go listen to the posthumous Cold Collective album after seeing how it was put together in the doc.
