This didn't hit me emotionally like it did others here (probably because I'm a single dude in my late 30's), but it was still an overall great film. Some pretty incredible animation in this.
Enjoyed it, laughed a good bit (Jessie noting the Jimmy Dean name plate for the pig like, “Oh! Ohhh nooo” got me), the Jessie scene at the tree caught me in the feels, but I couldn’t help but clock that if I were to compare this to anything it would definitely be Inside Out 2. Swap out Anxiety for Lilypad, Joy for Jessie, etc. and there you have it.
Thought this was mostly whatever. Some good moments and a lot of what are we doing here. They can probably stop making these and that would be okay.
Movie mopped up at the box office. I still enjoyed it a lot. I like that we get to know the actual toy owner and I think her story will resonate with younger people, especially theatre kid folk. It doesn’t touch the trilogy, but it maintains a pretty solid, three-out-of-four-star quality where I’m glad that it exists.
When the cowgirl toy saw something in the ground near the tree I thought it was going to be the casket of her former owner.
I thought it was another fantastic installment in the series. I love getting to return to this world and these characters every so often as the storylines evolve alongside me. I can't help but think of my daughter as I watch Bonnie and get emotional thinking of her going through the same things as she gets older.
I wanted to see Backrooms but it was starting 40 minutes later and there was only so much loitering we could do in the other stores. I remember the original so well but not so much the others so I was surprised that Woody had been reduced to a supporting character. There was a trailer for a cat movie with The Godfather theme and that got a laugh out of me.
Every high tech Buzz army scene was killing me. This was way funnier and leaner (in a good way) than 4. Lots of jokes and I was digging them. Also the new animation style for the imagination sequences was a fantastic add. I have never really liked Toy Story 2 so my rankings would be 1, 3, 5, 2, then 4.
i haven't seen this yet, but i watched 4 for the first time yesterday and it absolutely did NOT make me choke up
1-3 are great. 4 felt like a nice epilogue. This was the first that felt like they were just milking the franchise for another hit. Still enjoyable enough.
Do people have those favorite toys as a kid? I know I had some but it would change all the time. I didn't have a ride or tie toy for years or anything like that.
they need to find it on their own, like their father did. I will be leaving copies around the house when the older one turns 10
