pleasantly surprised that this was genuinely delightful. feels inspired in ways that were somewhat absent in the last one (i don't think 4 is as "just okay" as people have been saying in recent years but it really was a miracle being better than it could've been). it succeeds at being way more affecting and sincere. the humor lands except for a smallish handful of times. i was wondering what the idea was with pushing jessie to the forefront with this one, but it turns out they knew what they were doing. just a strong addition to the series in ways that run counter to how disney/pixar seemed to be doing (and still doing) things for a while there
i wasn’t bothered by it playing during the credits. fittingly not good enough to love or bad enough to hate
Seeing this on Friday with my mom. Should be good. Very weird alignment for me as I’ve grown up with Andy - I was the same age as Andy in the original two, and went to college the year TS3 came out.
