Good Dinosaur was definitely more formulaic than usual but it’s okay. I think it also suffers from coming out so soon after Inside Out
Yeah I echo whoever said the Cars movies are hte only ones they didn't enjoy. I tried watching 1 and didn't get through it, have only seen snippets of the other two and have no interest.
I like Cars 1 & 3 for what they are. Let’s not talk about 2 Edit: I also grew up in a motor racing family so that’s probably why
I remember watching Good Dinosaur and being pleasantly surprised. Brave really does well for my Scottish roots! Looking forward to Onward
From what I remember about Brave, the trailer made it something totally different than what it was. I thought it was gonna be some coming of age tale about a princess who just wants to be a bad ass archer or something. Instead it had magic bears or some shit.
I can't really remember the trailer but it was good to see a Scottish animation movie do well by Pixar that was pretty damn funny, (even if the accents were a little jaded). We have magic bears anyway that live in our highlands....
Brave is my least favorite; has its moments of beauty but is pretty dull and lacks the effortless charm Pixar is able to channel. But each Cars film is insufferable (and I’ll never watch 3, but I know it’s not gonna somehow be better than the first two piles of garbage), and I forgot the Good Dinosaur existed bc I haven’t seen it before, lol
The “Brave” teaser was absolutely stunning. It’s too bad it wasn’t advertising the same thing that the movie was.
This is definitely gonna lead to every Pixar movie being ranked and I'm not sure I have the self control to resist
I have never seen Cars 2 or the Good Dinosaur, so I can’t say whether or not they’re bad. The backlash that they both got upon release has definitely influenced my decision to not watch them to this point.
I’ve nevr watched Cars 2 but I can’t imagine Good Dinosaur comes anywhere close to being as bad as Cars 2 was based on the reviews. Like I said it’s definitely not their best, definitely formulaic, but I think it was somewhat unfairly compared to Inside Out since there was only 6 months or so between their releases
Brave, I think, is mostly hurt by the expectation vs. reality problem that was set up by the initial promotion/marketing. I like the movie just fine, but I was, like others, expecting some sort of epic fantasy movie.
The Good Dinosaur was way better than most people I've talked to thought it was Also I'm so stoked for this
On Wednesday there are free advance screenings in select AMC Dolby cinemas. Screenings are first come first serve. SeeItFirst
The Toy Story Facebook page reposted from the Dolby Facebook page. I haven’t seen it heavily promoted so hopefully lines won’t be long.
https://news.avclub.com/toy-story-4...ialMarketing&utm_content=Main&utm_campaign=SF No short before the movie. This is a little disappointing, I usually like when these Disney movies provide us with a little appetizer (assuming it's also good)
