I'm one of the rare people that though 4 was awful, tbh. I really love 1-3 and 4 really diminished so much of what made the original trilogy so special (i.e. the lack of camaraderie with the cast, really weak new characters, so much of the humor fell flat). It looked great and had some nice moments with Woody and Bo Peep, but that's as far as I'd go with it. To each their own though!
4 is very good. Obviously this is a movie for the shareholders, that Iger pulled out of his ass along with the Frozen & Zootopia sequels to distract from the layoffs and resturcting. "You know how 2022 was the worst year ever for the animation department? (Both Walt Disney Animation Studios & Pixar releasing gigantic flops like Lightyear & Strange World?) - Well don't worry! Those studios will be releasing sequels to their biggest hits soon!" Anyway, my pitch for Toy Story 5 is to do the Godfather Part II split timeline thing. Have Woody in his current life with Bo in the present timeline, and then do the timeline between Movies 2 & 3 - that way you don't undo Woody's choice in 4, and you still get time with Woody & Buzz and the gang in the past (which is probably what most people want to see)
just have it be a woody and bo peep adventure flick and they happen to run into buzz and gang give me Indiana peep
I am usually never like "just stop making sequels" but I think with Toy Story, they should just stop making sequels. The first three have a very special place in my heart. But 4 was okay, and hey if kids nowadays get a new trilogy of movies that means a lot to them then how could that be a bad thing??? Can't say I'm super stoked for it though
2>1>3>4 The first 3 are all time great masterpieces and 4 is merely pretty good. Lightyear sounds worthless tho if we are including that (haven't seen it)
When the movie makes a billion dollars their reason for making it will become clear. People keep giving them money for sequels and remakes so they will keep making them.
1-3-2-4 is probably my order as well....but it is probably more accurate to say 1=2=3 honestly. They're all so good for so many different reasons. 4 is like a nice little epilogue on the story, not as good as the other 3 but still decent. Forky is cute.
I can't seperate the first three. They're all perfect. I haven't watched 4 since it came out. I remember thinking it was good but I don't know if I was so desperate that it not be bad that I maybe clouded my own judgement. I haven't watched it since.
